Garfield Peak Hike

Last Saturday Alexis, Dad, and I headed up to Crater Lake to take a hike. It was smokey at home in the basin and we just wanted some clean air and clear vistas. The Garfield Peak hike starts right by the lodge and ascends 1.7 miles to 8094 feet. It was breathtaking in every way; the sheer drop offs to the lake as we got higher and higher, and the beautiful forest vistas. By the time we got to the summit, we could see all the way to the basin and were high above Crater Lake. it was spectacular!! Check out my new fanny-pack day pack. Love it!!
